A section of the ductile iron force main located along the Bridle Path ruptured in December of 2016. The defective section of pipe, which was approximately 3 feet long, was replaced with plastic pipe to prevent leakage. The staff at KSD elected to replace the entire section of ductile iron force main as a preventive measure to avoid future failures. The 150 foot section was replaced with a corrosion resistant high density polyethylene (HDPE) sewer pipe. The work was completed by Dearborn Brothers Construction and designed by Underwood Engineers.
